Detailsnecklace necklace Type Malas in INNER TUBE, CARDBOARD, PAPER and RECYCLED BEADS
UNIQUE PIECE, fully handmade.
Total length of the necklace: necklace 2 x 47 cm + set pendant & pompom 7 cm.
Necklace in pearls in varnished brown wood, round (4 mm in diameter).
Pendant: consisting of a rectangle cut out of a recycled tractor inner tube + another smaller rectangle made with recycled cardboard and a Buddha print: use of a glue varnish to make the charm. Hang from the rectangle several handmade charms:
- a turquoise nylon tassel surmounted by a bronze brass cap (length: 2.5 cm).
- a small ethnic bell in aged bronze brass (5 mm in diameter) surmounted by two turquoise mineral chips.
- a bronze brass charm representing a hand with a Buddha's head inside (1.7 x 1 cm)
On the necklace are many elements:
- a large turquoise Tibetan artisanal pearl (2 cm x 1 cm) bought from the association "Solidarité Nepal" (see **)
- a paper bead made by me from an impression of a Buddhist mantra (white with Buddhist inscriptions, length 2 cm).
- a head of Buddha in brass of bronze color (1 cm x 0.6 cm).
- ethnic spiral caps in the shape of a vase, in bronze brass (2.5 cm long)
- turquoise pearls: howlite pearls (saucers, round, round with grooves, ovals), irregular pearls are made of true turquoise (see ***), and the assemblies of small saucers are made of plastic.
- seeds: a natural Shiva eye seed (see ****) (brown, irregular appearance, approx. 1 cm in diameter), a cream-coloured Acai seed from Brazil.
- horned pearls: a round groove of light beige color (1 cm x 1.2 cm), and an elongated one with holes and ethnic engravings (2.5 cm long). And pearls in shells: succession of small pearls in the shape of white saucers, are lids of shells.
- various round bronze brass beads of varying sizes and ethnic patterns.
(**) Regarding the Tibetan artisanal pearl: it comes from the association "Solidarity Nepal" which supports Tibetan refugees. This association supports a community that is established in Pokhara, it is made up of 830 people who fled their country after the invasion of China. These people live exclusively from the sale of their crafts to tourists. Following the last earthquake they no longer have resources, which is why this association was born. Its profits are entirely donated to this community, so that they can buy food and rebuild their homes.
(***) Virtues of Turquoise: absorbs bad energies as well as bad thoughts, it will tend to take in your place the hard blows of life. . Turquoise makes positive, it influences temperaments to make them more serene. It promotes friendship, social relations, exchange, creativity. It is a good stone in case of nervous exhaustion or panic attack.It treats eye infections, it is detoxifying, it can be used to counter the effects of poisoning. It regulates the fluids and mucous membranes of the body, it purifies these liquids, it reduces excess cholesterol.
(****) The seed of Shiva is contained in an intense blue globular berry when ripe. In Sri Lanka the fleshy fruit (the drupe). Hindu legend tells that during one of his meditations Shiva, the lucky deity, had a vision of the wishes and sufferings of the world that made him cry. A tear fell on the ground and gave birth to a tree whose seeds are also called Shiva's tears.
